THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,

Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (‘the EEA Agreement’), and in particular Article 98 thereof,

Whereas:

(1)

Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2018/1524 of 11 October 2018 establishing a monitoring methodology and the arrangements for reporting by Member States in accordance with Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the accessibility of the websites and mobile applications of public sector bodies (1), as corrected by OJ L 259, 16.10.2018, p. 43, is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.

(2)	Annex XI to the EEA Agreement should therefore be amended accordingly,

HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:

Article 1

The following is inserted after point 5oca (Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2018/1523) of Annex XI to the EEA Agreement:

32018 D 1524: Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2018/1524 of 11 October 2018 establishing a monitoring methodology and the arrangements for reporting by Member States in accordance with Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the accessibility of the websites and mobile applications of public sector bodies (OJ L 256, 12.10.2018, p. 108), as corrected by OJ L 259, 16.10.2018, p. 43.

The provisions of the Decision shall, for the purposes of this Agreement, be read with the following adaptations:

(a)

In Article 3(2), as regards the EFTA States, the words “between 1 January 2020 and 22 December 2021” shall read “between 1 January of the third calendar year and 22 December of the fourth calendar year following the date of entry into force of Decision of the EEA Joint Committee No 353/2021 of 10 December 2021”.

(b)	In Article 3(3), as regards the EFTA States, the words “between 23 June 2021 and 22 December 2021” shall read “between 23 June and 22 December of the fourth calendar year following the date of entry into force of Decision of the EEA Joint Committee No 353/2021 of 10 December 2021”.’

Article 2

The text of Implementing Decision (EU) 2018/1524, as corrected by OJ L 259, 16.10.2018, p. 43, in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union, shall be authentic.

Article 3

This Decision shall enter into force on 11 December 2021, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the EEA Agreement have been made (*1), or on the day of the entry into force of Decision of the EEA Joint Committee No 59/2021 of 5 February 2021 (2), whichever is the later.

Article 4

This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Union.
